Star Cloud Services brings innovative solutions in nine new countries
Sunnyvale, CA--Star Cloud Services, a subsidiary of a leading receipt printer manufacturer Star Micronics, has expanded into nine new markets across Europe, Africa and Central America, bringing support to a total of 16 countries worldwide.
Star Cloud Services helps retailers better engage, activate and retain shoppers by turning their receipt printers into cloud-connected devices and providing a suite of services to enable retailers to get the most out of shopper data available from receipts.
Star Cloud Services also powers retailers with AllReceipts, a fast, free, and secure digital receipt solution available on all Star Micronics receipt printers. AllReceipts makes it easy for retailers to offer an anonymous cloud-based digital receipt service in which customers can store and manage receipts on any iOS or Android device without sharing an email address or taking a picture of the receipt. Retailers can then retrieve digital receipt information quickly via date or retailer. Shoppers can filter receipts by retailer and date making them super easy to find.
The new European markets include Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, and the Netherlands. Expansions into South Africa and Mexico were also announced today. In total, Star Cloud Services now operates in sixteen markets worldwide, with targeted customer service support in each region.
The opportunity for digital transaction data especially in markets like South Africa and Mexico is growing rapidly. According to ReportLinker, South Africa is far ahead of other countries in the region in regard to IoT, Internet, smartphone use, and payment card penetration. Consumers in South Africa still prefer in-store shopping to eCommerce, creating opportunities for retailers to connect on a deeper level. Mexico has seen similar patterns with in-store shopping still the preferred method of choice, since many brands have not launched e-retail stores in the country yet.
According to Forrester, by 2020 more than half of all retail sales in Europe will be influenced by online and digital. The report predicts that the need for technology that brings an online experience, offline highlights how important it is for retailers to deliver an integrated cross-channel offering.
“Today’s shopper continues to evolve and retailers are no longer in control of the shopping experience. Changing trends including the decline of boomers’ impact on sales, millennials’ increasing influence, a growing ethnic diversity, and an increase in diverse household types have challenged retailers to better understand their shoppers’ needs,” said Kevin Terao, CEO of Star Cloud Services. “Star Cloud Services helps retailers implement effective solutions to attract and retain customers, increasing their ROI. By leveraging data from printed receipts, retailers are able to enhance and personalize the shopping experience for each customer.”
The new global market expansion allows for future partnerships with various services in areas such as analytics, loyalty programs, loss prevention, customer engagement, and more.
