CINCINNATI -- Vantiv, Inc., a leading provider of payment processing services and related technology solutions for merchants and financial institutions of all sizes, announced today the formation of a new channel-focused business advisory service – PaymentsEdge – that will assist partners in every channel, from financial institutions to independent software vendors. The new group is part of Vantiv’s Xcelerator Solutions, which are designed to optimize partner portfolio revenue growth and attract new customers.
Today, Vantiv also announced that industry veteran Jim Roddy will lead advisory services for the integrated payments channel where he will serve as the Reseller and ISV Business Advisor with a focus on the retail, hospitality and grocery verticals. Details of the program were unveiled during the annual Vantiv Integrated Payments Partner Meeting at the Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA)RetailNOW conference in Grapevine, TX.
“We are taking the value of partnering with Vantiv to the next level by offering business advisory services to the integrated payments channel,” said Matt Taylor, group president of integrated payments and emerging channels at Vantiv. “This is a great opportunity for businesses to work with experts to focus on things outside their expertise to help their business grow and thrive.”
PaymentsEdge Advisory Services for Integrated Payments will assist resellers and Independent Software Vendors (ISV), with their employee management, leadership development, change management, succession planning, shifting to the recurring revenue business model, and more.
“Jim Roddy is perfect for this kind of advisory services,” said Matt Downs, head of business and channel development, integrated payments at Vantiv. “Jim will go beyond providing advice and will strategize with solutions providers, face-to-face or by video conference. He will take a deep dive into their business to deliver specific guidance and assistance with their business activities, well beyond payments, as a proof point that channel vitality and the open ecosystem is critical to future innovation for the Point of Sale market.”
Roddy joined Vantiv in June 2016 to launch this new program. He is well-known in the channel as the former president of Jameson Publishing and Business Solutions Magazine, past chair of the RSPA board of directors, and author of Hire Like You Just Beat Cancer, a book featuring hiring lessons, interview best practices, and recruiting strategies for managers through the perspective of a cancer-surviving executive.
Since 1999, Roddy has shared insights with business leaders through national magazine articles, online columns, webinars, podcasts, video interviews, and presentations at national conferences. He is a frequent speaker at channel conferences and moderator of keynote panel discussions featuring top executives from the retail IT channel. Roddy will start a new blog onwww.vantiv.com to share insights, best practices and success stories.
“I’m very excited to join the Vantiv team and help launch a program that’s 100 percent focused on channel vitality,” Roddy said. “Our goal is to leverage our channel expertise and provide effective consulting to resellers and ISVs to help their businesses run more effectively. We will engage with a solution provider’s team and even their customers, to uncover meaningful data that can be used to identify and correct weak spots. This new role fits well with the Vantiv and Mercury history of channel advocacy and doing what’s in the best interest of our partners.”
